RFW SPEAKS!

 

My father's name is Lavern Curtis Wohlman. He was raised on a farm in North Dakota, lied abut his age and joined the Navy as a teen. He was on leave in Boston, when he met my mother and he remained in love with her until he passed in 1995. Among the important things he taught me, was how to really love and respect your wife and children. I aspire to be as good at it as he was.

 

He was 23 (left) when this picture was taken in 1948 with his best-man, Popye (right), and it's a trip to imagine him as a wild young sailor and to see him with all that curly hair on his head! I got to visit his grave yesterday and the time there has inspired me to be an even better father and man in the days and years ahead.
