HAL17 - SPONTANEOUS MUSIC REACTION

What is Spontaneous Music Reaction? A good question, since I made the term up - at least for our application. SMR is a fun and different method to program today's 2-hour HAL File special. I say a word off the top of my head - like Head - and I then play the first song that I think of that references the chosen word in some way. Each song is inspired by the one immediately preceding it. I was surprised and delighted with the outcome!

HEAD

We started with a obviously oral Prince, a rebelling barrel of Monkees and long Head session with Kraan from 1972.

EVIL

A very popular subject, our set delivers Evil incarnate with Spooky Tooth, a howlin' Derek & The Dominoes, the career men in Blue Oyster Cult, a sweet Derringer, The Vines and The Kinks.

TALES

Not the opposite of head(s), we use Tales to tell stories of Kid Funkadelic, Blade Runner with Vangelis and Rumi with Charles Lloyd.

GOOD

Right beats might and Good will always prevail - so enjoy everything that is Good and get into John Coltrane, Otis Redding and James Brown. The Beatles whisper Goodnight to us all and end this successful musical experiment!

HAL17 is a 128k mp3 made loud to be played loud!

Part 1 is 60MB and 1:05:20 in length.

Part 2 is 55MB and 1:00:21 in length.

"have you heard the news - there's good rockin' tonight"
