"I'm in love with modern moonlight
128 when it's dark outside
I'm in love with Massachusetts
I'm in love with the radio on"

*The music featured was created by friends and family during the fertile years of 1975 - 1985. When  curating the selections, all I had to do was close my eyes and remember that period in my hometown: WTBS/WMBR, Late Risers Club/Friday Night Live/TVOD, WBCN, The Rat, Spit, The Paradise, driving past the Stop 'n' Shop when it's dark outside like a Roadrunner.
Many of these artists went on to stardom, others got "real" jobs and some have left us -
all were integral to the beat of the city then and now!
Enjoy a snapshot of one of the most amazing scenes in any city at any point in time.
These bands were music - I was radio - some things never change.
Turn this up wicked loud - Fuck Beantown - This is Boston!

"Never get out of the boat.
Absolutely goddamn right.
Unless you're going all the way"

*54 years ago on May 15, 1970, less than two weeks after the fall of Saigon to North Vietnamese forces and less than a month after the Khmer Rouge captured the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, Cambodian Communist troops forcibly seized an American merchant ship, the SS Mayaguez, in the Gulf of Thailand. In so doing, the Khmer Rouge began what some argue was the “last battle” of the Vietnam War. In an attempt to recover the ship and rescue its 39 civilian crew members, President Gerald Ford ordered a force of 175 Marines to make an amphibious assault on the island of Koh Tang, where U.S. intelligence believed the crew was being held. The entire crew was eventually rescued, but the effort led to the deaths of 41 American servicemen. All those killed in the operation to rescue the crew of the Mayaguez, including the 23 Air Force Airmen killed in the training accident on May 13, are memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., on Panel 1W, Lines 124–132.

I ask that you suppose that this DLM session was the
 "RFW Good Morning Vietnam" broadcast
that was listened to by the soldiers preparing for the not-so surprise attack.

May your god bless Our Troops and The United States Of America.

"You can't leave 'cause your heart is there
And you, you can't stay 'cause you been somewhere else
You can't cry 'cause you'll look broke down
But you're cryin' anyway 'cause you're all broke down"

*An Affair of Dishonour is a novel written by William De Morgan originally published in 1910. Well known for experimenting with stained glass, he ventured into pottery in 1863 and by 1872 had shifted his interest wholly to ceramics. De Morgan eventually turned his hand to writing novels, and ultimately became better known for the latter. The 1st Edition pictured sits in the collection of Charles Bartlett in The Bonnet House and Museum located in Fort Lauderdale.

"I came home today, and I opened the door with my bare hands and I said:
Hey! Who tore up all my wallpaper samples?
Who ate all the grapes--the ones I was saving?
And this guy was sitting there, and I said:
Hey, Pal! What's going on here?
