*I was interested in sound-collage before I really understood what was going on, as exampled in Revolution #9, an immediate favorite from The White Album. Live-radio experimentation on The Asylum, produced together with Boston music Presence Tony V at WTBS/WMBR, 88.1 FM in Cambridge on January 5, 1980 inspired me further. It layered elements of theatre, improvisation, avant-garde, musique-concrete, mashing, sampling, tape manipulations, loose but intact theme and eclectic musical selections - before many of these terms and techniques were even in use!

This unique art continues on DLM.

 Inspired by watching For All Mankind and it's revisionist look at our NASA storyline,

including all the things that could happen with bad decisions made by stupid people.

"Who do you love?"

Haruomi "Papa Harry" Hosono,
musician, composer, producer and electronic pioneer, is one of the most renowned and revered artists out of Japan. With early bands such as Apryl Fool and Happy End, Harry paved the way to fateful collaborations with the late Ryuichi Sakamoto and  drummer Yukihiro Takahashi, eventually forming Yellow Magic Orchestra with the duo. His numerous solo releases through the decades include synth workouts, J-Funk jams, video-game exotica, ambient and everything else you might find under the rising sun. Like George being in a band with John and Paul, Harry had the privilege of working with and being somewhat overshadowed by the internationally famous Mr. Sakamoto, but his output and talent is no less prolific. Included are a pocket full of favorites, but there is so much more.

*I saw this amazing show on October 28, 1993 at the beautiful

Zellerbach Hall on the campus of UC Berkeley, and it remains a highlight memory.

Below, David gives us a little background on the project and within,

the band delivers a sonic document of the short-lived tour.

"Robert approached me in late 1991 about whether I wanted to 

join a new King Crimson he was forming. Though very flattered,

I decided that I didn’t feel equipped to take on the whole baggage and history

 that comes with being a member of King Crimson.

So instead we took the offer of the tour as an opportunity to

write material for an album. It was a way of combining Robert’s

and my approach to recording music,

and a challenge that I enjoyed."

“It's kind of surreal somehow,
because I really feel like I haven't even started yet.
I'm not sure if I feel 75. I don't even know what that means.
I hope I can just keep going for a while longer because
I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface yet.
“I've been so lucky to get to do so much of what I wanted to do,
but it still doesn't I feel like I’m close to done. I don't have a goal other 
than just to try to keep going and try to keep figuring it out.”

Bill remains one of the best guitarists I have ever seen 

and his music makes a perfect start to our new feature
