Transmission 13811

Sniper, patsy, lead singer? Will the true story of the days before November 22, 1963 ever be revealed? Could LHO, the now-sound trio from Texas, have made it to the top of the charts? This show will not get us any closer to the answers to these and other less important questions, but whispers echo and mystery looms large between the sounds of Dionne-Bregent, Mochipet, Mikron 64, Dick Hyman, Space Art, The Human League, Suicide, Mort Garson, David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Bochum Welt, The Balanescu Quartet and Kraftwerk!

Transmission 13411

This one started with Keith Olbermann reporting on Occupation (fill in the blank). As I watched clips of various current day law enforcement officers around the world kicking the shit out of protesters, Chicago, 1969 started echoing in my head and I was compelled to use the iconic chant in a musical context.

The resulting RFW WWW Suite is an improv of motive and sound featuring Terje Rypdal, Chaos Face, David Bowie, Derek Bailey & DJ Ninj , Automaton, Billy Cobham, Miles Davis translated by Bill Laswell, Terry Kath of/off Chicago Transit Authority, the 99% in '69, Dubadelic, Brian Eno, The Rolling Stones remixed by The Neptunes and Klaus Schulze.

"the Whole World is Watching"

RFW

*In the confusion trying to figure out "what just happened(?)" I neglected to mention that the suite included Miles Davis retranslated by Bill Laswell ("On The Corner") and Brian Eno ("Fractal Nerve").

**I originally recorded and posted this one at high quality on 11/9/11. With such a great low end going, I wanted to hear the difference (or not). Do you notice anything that much better? Transmission 13411 came about very spontaniously, it was actually 5 minutes from the thought of the Chicago Democractic Convention in '69 to hitting the record button.

Transmission 13311

I love the idea of an International Day of Metal! The universe of this music as a genre is deep, wide and usually loud. From the original sound of it's arrival in the hands of the builders, to it's childhood and formative years, perfected by the masters and continued by the inspired carriers of the torch. Rather than try and define metal and all it's cross-breeding sub-cultures, I opted to just light a few candles, turn up the volume to 11 and rock out with Blue Oyster Cult, Tool, Brain Donor, Mastodon, Black Sabbath, Racebannon, Lou Reed & Metallica, Sun O))) & Boris, Jimi Hendrix Experience and Link Wray. Happy 11-11-11!

*This show is dedicated to the veterans of all past, present and future wars.

**I was listening back to this transmission while doing much needed yard-work when I noticed a (Wohl)man-made mistake of double-tracking. Consider the original a discontinued rarity and feel relieved to know that the corrected file has mysteriously replaced it's predecessor.

If you look at old concert posters as a complete body of work (the two Fillmore locations in particular), it is an amazing history of rock and roll in the late sixties and early seventies. In the same adventerous spirit that Mr. Graham booked his concert emporiums, we create a custom RFW Concert Poster featuring a near-perfect line-up - Steely Dan, NRBQ, Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention, Mike Nesmith, Neil Young, Nils Lofgren, Nazareth, Joni Mitchell, King Crimson and Steve Hackett!

Transmission 13011

In my highly opinionated reality, the most anticipated part of the artistic process is not the arrival of the idea,  the physical creative activity or the finished "product'. It's the burning-of-grey-rubber that occurs when supplied with the theoretical or physical blank canvass.. As addictive as the most virulent narcotic and as satisfying as the most erotic encounter, the buzz of brain buds colliding as you think "what should I do next" allows the author an endless supply of variations and unmatched mental stimulation....or....I have no fucking idea of what I'm going to play after David Bowie, but I'm workin' on it and it's starting to feel good!
