*I've been a fan of VDGG and Peter Hamill for decades and the new
Charisma Years box has been a delight to reunite with the band that took
inspiration from Robert Jemison Van de Graaff, who was born Dec. 20,
1901 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and died on Jan. 16, 1967 in my hometown of
Boston, Massachusetts. He was a physicist and inventor of the Van de Graaff
generator, a type of high-voltage electrostatic generator that serves as a
particle accelerator used in atomic and medical research.
